Adventure Time Movie Currently In Development And To Be Released In Cinemas

On Friday (27/02/2015), Cartoon Network released information to announcing that an Adventure Time movie is now in production and will be released in cinemas, the movie will be made by Cartoon Network Studios and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, Cartoon Network’s sister company. Pendleton Ward, the show’s creator, will have involvement in the writing and producing of the movie even after concerns that his role on the show has been reduced. The animated film will be produced by Chris McKay and Roy Lee, Chris McKay is known for his role as executive producer for The Lego Movie and is presently directing the Lego Batman movie, while Roy Lee, who also worked with Chris McKay on The Lego Movie, is also currently producing the new Lego Batman movie.

Adventure Time is often regarded as Cartoon Network’s most popular current series and has been a ratings phenomenon worldwide, so successful that other TV channels worldwide have brought broadcasting rights to air the show and also the wide range of merchandise available. The reason behind its success is the limitless amount of stories that could be produced and the different personalities of all the characters on the show which maximizes the show’s potential. The shows premise is about a 12-year-old boy named Finn and his best friend/brother dog named Jake who go on adventures to protect the Land of Ooo or just go on adventures for the fun of it.

Cartoon Network UK BAFTA Children’s Awards Nominations

Yesterday (21/10/2014), it was announced that Cartoon Network UK was shortlisted for a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Children’s Award in the Children’s Channel of the Year category. Cartoon Network UK has also been nominated for the Best Children’s Website of the Year award.

But those weren’t the only nominations!, The Amazing World of Gumball has been nominated in four different categories: Best Animated Show in 2014, BAFTA Kids’ Vote (Best Children’s Show), for Best Writing Staff and Blue-Zoo Productions has also been nominated for their work on the Gumball Song promo in the Children’s Short Form category. Blue-Zoo has also been nominated in the Independent Production Company category, and has worked with Cartoon Network in the past on several occasions.

Adventure Time has been nominated in the best international show category, Mixels has been nominated in the interactive category, also in the BAFTA Kids’ Vote (Best Children’s Show) category is Regular Show.

Also Cartoon Network’s sister company, Warner Bros. has been nominated for The Lego Movie for the BAFTA Kids’ Vote (Best Children’s Film in 2014), BAFTA Kids’ Vote (Best Children’s Game in 2014) and Best Feature Film categories.

If you are aged between 7-14, there is a public vote for the BAFTA Kids’ Vote categories, you have a freedom of choice on what you can vote for, but if you can, make sure to vote for Cartoon Network related nominations. šŸ˜‰

The BAFTA Children’s Awards ceremony will be held at the Roundhouse in London, on Sunday 23rd November and will be hosted by Doc Brown.

Lego Ninjago Movie Announced

It has been announced that the popular Cartoon Network series, Lego Ninjago, will have a movie released in cinemas on 23rdĀ September 2016 (USA). A sequel to The Lego Movie will be released on 26th May 2017 (USA).

These cinema release dates are subject to change, and there’s a possibility of more Lego themed movies in the future. Both of the announced Lego movies are to be distributed by Cartoon Network’s sister company, Warner Bros. Pictures.
