Adafruit’s New Steven Universe MakeCode Electronics Project Guide
Online electronics education/electronic components supplier – Adafruit has added a new Steven Universe themed electronics project guide onto their website. Cartoon Network announced their partnership with Adafruit and Microsoft last month which build upon Cartoon Network’s ongoing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) initiative. The projects help to inspire kids to get creative and also to learn the principles of computer coding by constructing items inspired by Cartoon Network’s shows using paper or card and small electronic components, including Adafruit’s Circuit Playground Express micro-controller device and also with the use of Microsoft’s MakeCode coding development tool.
The new Steven Universe themed projects include a light-up Rose Quartz shield that makes a sound when hit, Garnet’s gauntlets that creates light and sound effects when punching, fusion gems with use of LED lights (for example Ruby and Sapphire transforming into Garnet) and also Pearl’s spear which features motion detection and lighting effects. More Steven Universe projects will be added in the near future.
