Today (28/03/2018), Turner Asia-Pacific has announced that Vikram Sharma has been appointed as the new Vice President of Cartoon Network Enterprises for the region. Cartoon Network Enterprises is Cartoon Network’s product merchandising and service licensing division. As the division’s new vice president, Vikram will be responsible for driving sales across the region for Cartoon Network branded toys, clothing, home entertainment, publishing, lifestyle products as well as live events and themed entertainment. Cartoon Network’s popular IPs include Ben 10, We Bare Bears, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball and The Powerpuff Girls. Cartoon Network Enterprises Asia-Pacific is also responsible for licensing for Adult Swim shows, including Rick and Morty, the emoticon rabbit Tzuki and it also acts as an representative of Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of Turner’s sister company – Warner Bros. in the region.
Turner EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) president – Giorgio Stock is also responsible for the international part of Cartoon Network Enterprises and will be working closely with the Asia-Pacific licensing team. Before joining Turner, Vikram worked for Disney’s Asia division in Singapore and India, he was also in charge of Disney’s consumer products business in Thailand, which is also an important market for Cartoon Network Enterprises.

Turner Asia Pacific has appointed Vikram Sharma Vice President of Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE), its regional licensing and merchandising division.
Joining Turner in March, Mr Sharma is tasked with driving sales across the whole region for its branded toys, apparel, home entertainment, publishing and lifestyle products, as well as live events and themed entertainment. Major franchises and IP under CNE’s management from the Cartoon Network portfolio of shows including Ben 10, We Bare Bears, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball and The Powerpuff Girls, as well as Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty.
His remit also includes the management of Tuzki, the digital IP and emoticon of choice in China and beyond. In South Asia, Turner acts as a representative for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

EMEA President Giorgio Stock, who also spearheads Cartoon Network Enterprises for Turner internationally, will work closely with the CNE team in Asia Pacific to maintain consistency and strategic direction for the business outside of the US.
Before joining Turner, Mr Sharma held various key positions in Disney across Asia including Singapore and India. He’s a proven commercial leader with successful stints in overall P&L management and in different aspects of sales and distribution, with a special focus on retail and franchise monetization. Most recently he led Disney’s consumer products business in Thailand, a key location for Turner’s CNE business.
Theme Park Company Six Flags And Riverside Investment Group Partner With Turner For New Rides And Attractions
Today (22/03/2018), it was announced that Six Flags, the world’s largest theme park company, tourism and real estate developer – Riverside Investment Group and Turner Asia-Pacific have formed a new partnership which will bring rides and attractions based on Turner’s properties to Six Flags theme parks in China.
The first branded ride from the new partnership will be a dark-ride based on Turner’s cartoon rabbit instant messaging emoticon property – Tuzki, the new ride will be at two Six Flags theme parks in China, Six Flags Zhejiang and Six Flags Chongqing, which will open in 2019 and 2020 respectively. In addition to the new ride, both parks will also feature Tuzki theming and shops selling Tuzki merchandise. Tuzki is a much loved and well known cartoon character in China, with millions of Tuzki emoticons being used on messaging apps every day. Tuzki is even having his very own theatrical movie which will be released in cinemas across China very soon.
The new partnership between Turner and Riverside Investment Group also allows for other Turner-owned properties from Cartoon Network’s wide portfolio of cartoon characters and shows to be featured inside Six Flags Kids World. Six Flags Kids World will be the first park of its kind for families with young children and will be built alongside Six Flags Zhejiang and Six Flags Chongqing.

Cartoon Network Wave Cruise Ship To Set Sail In Asia Late 2018
Today (25/01/2018) Turner Asia-Pacific and Singapore-based luxury cruise line management company – Oceanic Group have announced that they have partnered up to offer the world’s first ever Cartoon Network-themed cruise ship – Cartoon Network Wave. For the first time ever, some of the world’s most famous cartoon characters will be setting sail on their very own cruise ship. The ship will set off on its maiden voyage from its home port of Singapore in late 2018.
Cartoon Network Wave will have 11 guest-decks, with an on-board capacity of around 2,000 guests and will feature the world’s first triplex cabins on a cruise ship. the ship will be an enjoyable experience for families with young children and cartoon fans everywhere, offering the feeling of an ocean voyage adventure with their favourite characters. Different sections of the ship will be themed after a wide selection of the channel’s most iconic shows, including Adventure Time, Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and We Bare Bears. During a cruise on Cartoon Network Wave, guests will get to enjoy a wide choice of entertainment (outdoor deck party area and Toonix Play and Learn area), recreational activities and themed retail and restaurant areas. The ship will have a character filled livery with Adventure Time’s Jake covering the ship’s bow.

Set to make its maiden voyage from its home port of Singapore in late 2018, the 11 guest-deck, 2,000-guest Cartoon Network Wave will be one vast haven for toon-loving travellers. With the ocean as a backdrop, families will enjoy the world’s first immersive Toon vacation at sea, and an adventure with their favourite Cartoon Network stars.
While there are many existing projects by Turner’s location-based entertainment team including Cartoon Network-branded restaurants, theme parks, waterparks around the world – and even planes and trains – this is the first time anywhere that a cruise liner has undergone a full Cartoon Network transformation.
The theming and entire onboard experience of Cartoon Network Wave is inspired by Cartoon Network’s universe of well-loved characters from iconic shows such as Adventure Time, Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and We Bare Bears. Oceanic Group formalised its partnership with Turner in a signing ceremony this morning in Singapore, marking the official launch of Cartoon Network Wave, the world’s first Cartoon Network-themed cruise and Singapore’s first homegrown contemporary cruise product.
Oceanic Group’s Chief Executive Mr Daniel Chui said the partnership represents the company’s commitment to capitalise on Asia’s growing cruise travel market. “A homegrown cruise project, Cartoon Network Wave heralds the start of a new vacation experience for cruise-goers in Asia where cruise travel meets personalised journeys through experiential story-telling. With Singapore’s position as a cruise hub in Asia, we believe it is only fitting that we dive right in and ride the surging tide of this passenger cruise wave.”
