Adventure Time Wins A Peabody Award

Adventure Time

Today (23/04/2015) was the announcement of the 74th Annual Peabody Awards winners and Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time won an award. Adventure Time was praised by the awards committee at the University of Georgia for its uniquely imagined, truly odd fantasy world and for stories about exploration and adventure to help kids work through their anxieties about growing up and maturing. The Peabody Awards recognizes distinguished and meritorious content by American radio and television stations, networks, online media, producing organisations, and individuals, only content of such an extraordinary high standard can win such an award.

The awards committee described the show as “An animated amalgam of sci-fi, fantasy, horror and fairy tale, it chronicles the escapades of an odd-looking human boy named Finn and his best friend, a shape-shifting dog named Jake, in the surreal Land of Ooo. Purely and wonderfully imaginative in the manner of classic theatrical cartoons past, it entertains even as it subtly teaches lessons about growing up, accepting responsibility, and becoming who you’re meant to be.”

Congratulations to Cartoon Network and Federator for winning a Peabody Award. 😀

The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday 31st May, a list of all the award winners can be viewed by clicking the link below.
