Cartoon Network Latin America Gets Broadcast Rights For Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 Movie: An All-Star Cast Animated Superhero Movie

Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 (SLAM7), the animated superhero movie featuring a celebrity cast that also includes Stan Lee himself (known for co-creating Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor and the X-Men at Marvel Comics) will be heading to Cartoon Network Latin America.

Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 is produced by Stan Lee Comics, a joint venture with Genius Brands International, Stan Lee’s own company POW! Entertainment and Archie Comics. The movie is also be based on the comic book series of the same name. The movie will be the first part of a trilogy and features many celebrities from TV, movies and music such as Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Jim Belushi (The Defenders), Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory), Darren Criss (Glee), Flea (of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers), Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger), Teri Hatcher (Desperate Housewives), Michael Ironside (Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising) and Christian Slater (Breaking In).

In the movie, Stan Lee stars as an animated version of himself, a superhero creator, who teaches a crew of alien prisoners and their jailers, who have crash-landed on Earth, how to work together and use their powers to be superheroes. Each superhero has unique powers and strengths which are needed to deal with enemies.

Stan Lee made this statement about his own movie being aired in Latin America on Cartoon Network:

“I am so excited to be able to expand this project throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, For this film, I was able to create a unique group of superheroes that I’m thrilled to be able to share throughout 42 new territories. Scooby-Doo To Return To The Big Screen In 2018: But This Time It’s Animated

Yesterday (17/08/2015), it was announced that Scooby-Doo is returning to cinemas for a brand new animated feature length film. Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and originally produced by their company Hanna-Barbera productions, Scooby-Doo remains to this day, one of the most popular classic cartoon series and has regular daily airings on Boomerang feeds worldwide. The movie will be produced Charles Roven and Richard Suckle who also produced both live-action theatrical Scooby-Doo films. Allison Abbate, producer of Warner Bros.’ The Iron Giant has joined as a producer for the new movie. The movie will be directed by Emmy Award nominee Tony Cervone, director of Space Jam. Family Guy animator and Phineas and Ferb show co-creator, Dan Povenmire will also be involved as executive producer, with the screenplay written by Matt Lieberman.

There’s currently no news of a plot for the movie, but without a doubt, the storyline will follow the typical rules of a Scooby-Doo episode, Scooby, Shaggy and the rest of Mystery Inc. try to solve a mystery behind supernatural happenings and try to investigate who’s the person behind it all, with jokes and laughs thrown in to the lighten the mood.

Warner Bros. president of worldwide marketing and distribution Sue Kroll made this statement regarding the new Scooby-Doo movie:

“It’s wonderful to be working with this talented and inspired team of filmmakers. We couldn’t ask for better producers than Charles Roven, Richard Suckle and Allison Abbate, who have such affection and respect for this property and know the Hanna-Barbera universe so well.”

The movie is scheduled to be released in cinemas in the USA on Friday 21st September 2018 and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures (The owner of Hanna-Barbera animated properties). A new animated series called Be Cool Scooby-Doo will also be coming to Boomerang USA later this year.
