Cartoon Network USA, EMEA And APAC Buys Broadcasting Rights To ZAG’s Power Players Animated Series
Cartoon Network USA, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) has acquired the broadcasting rights to ZAG America’s upcoming animated series – Power Players. Power Players is a brand new action-comedy CGI-hybrid animated series that follows the adventures of a young boy named Axel who transforms into a living action figure. Axel teams up with other toy heroes and goes on little big adventures. Power Players was developed by ZAG America’s owner and founder – Jeremy Zag, who also developed the popular Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir animated and toy franchise. The new show is written by the team at Man of Action Entertainment (best known for Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 and also Disney’s Big Hero 6) and is co-produced by OnEntertainment. According to ZAG, the series will utilise groundbreaking CGI-hybrid animation, a technique that will be used for the first time in a television series format.
The new show marks the first ever collaboration between Cartoon Network and ZAG. Playmates Toys has been signed up to produce action figures and role-play toys. Power Players is expected to premiere later this year.
