Four New Animated Shows Coming Soon To TBS

Turner’s general entertainment channel in the United States – TBS has uploaded a 2017 preview of their upcoming programming yesterday coinciding with the Turner Upfront 2017 event in New York. During the next year or so (and alongside their live-action programming), TBS will premiere four new animated shows, The Cops, Close Enough, Tarantula and Final Space.

The Cops is an animated show starring and co-created by Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks. The Cops follows the lives of two Los Angeles patrolmen named Al (voiced by Albert Brooks) and Lou (voiced by Louis C.K.), both cops try their hardest to protect and serve in one of the largest cities in the world. The Cops is produced by FX Productions, Louis C.K.’s Pig Newton and Turner’s Studio T, the show is slated to premiere in 2018.

Close Enough is a brand new show from the creator of Cartoon Network’s Emmy award-winning Regular Show and creative director of The Marvellous Misadventures of Flapjack – J.G. Quintel. Close Enough is a surreal animated series about the life of a married couple transitioning into their thirties, handling parenthood, friendship, ham theft, stripper clowns and choosing the right day care. Initially, 13 episodes have been ordered by TBS. The animated series is produced by Cartoon Network Studios and Studio T. The show features J.G. Quintel’s recognisable art style, which was used on Regular Show. The show is slated to premiere in 2018.

Tarantula is an animated dark comedy created by Carson Mell, the show is about people living in a seedy hotel. The show is based on a series of animated shorts that can be viewed on Carson Mell’s YouTube channel.

Final Space, is an interstellar animated comedy created by independent filmmaker, actor, comedian and entrepreneur Olan Rogers. The series follows an astronaut named Gary Space and his alien friend, Mooncake, both go on an intergalactic adventure to solve the mystery of “Final Space”, in other words the end of the universe. Talkshow host Conan O’Brien is also an executive producer on the show.
