From today (16th November) Cartoon Network HD+, a channel that has an alternative schedule to the Cartoon Network India is now available on Tata Sky – one of India’s largest subscription DTH (direct-to-home) digital satellite television service, viewers will get to enjoy more animated content from Cartoon Network Studios and in HD. Cartoon Network HD+ launched in April this year and has steadily gaining distribution in India since the channel’s launch.

Turner Renews Distribution Deal With Sky Deutschland

Today (4th September), Turner EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and the German division of British direct-to-home satellite pay-tv provider – Sky Deutschland have renewed their distribution deal. The carriage deal includes continued distribution of Cartoon Network and Boomerang in Germany and Austria on Sky’s TV platform, as well as TNT Film, TNT Series and TNT Comedy. The deal also includes VOD (Video-On-Demand) rights for Cartoon Network’s and Boomerang’s shows which are also accessible on Sky Deutschland’s child friendly streaming service app – Sky Kids. The deal also includes carriage of a HD version of TNT Film – TNT Film HD.

Manuel Kindervater, Vice President of Partner Channels at Sky Deutschland made this statement in regards with the new deal with Turner:

“Our focus is on presenting our customers with the highest quality content, The self-produced series, the films and the high-quality children’s programs of Turner stations are clearly one of them.”

Matthias Heinze, general manager of Turner Eastern Europe and Benelux also added:

“The new contract with our longtime partner Sky is an important step. We were not only able to jointly increase the distribution of some of our channels, but have long-term security.”

U.S. based Internet OTT (Over-The-Top) television provider – fuboTV have signed a distribution deal with Turner Broadcasting to carry its channels on its service including Cartoon Network and its nighttime block – Adult Swim. fuboTV is known for its wide range of sports channels and the addition of Turner’s channels will add a bit of variety to fuboTV’s package, although both TNT and TBS air sports programming.

Turner’s TNT, TBS, CNN, CNN International (in the higher fubo Extra package), Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Boomerang (in the higher fubo Extra package), truTV, TCM and HLN are all now available on fuboTV. The basic package costs $39.99 USD for the first month and $44.99 per month thereafter. For fubo Extra it costs $44.99 for the first month and $49.99 per month thereafter. Investors in fuboTV include broadcasters such as AMC Networks, 21st Century Fox, Sky plc and Scripps.
