Cartoon Network Latin America Buys Endangered Species Broadcasting Rights

On Thursday 19th November, it was announced that Turner Broadcasting System Latin America have purchased the broadcasting rights to Endangered Species which could air on Cartoon Network or/and Boomerang. The new animated show is about mostly about three animals named Pickle (a hyper-imaginative rabbit), Merl (A safety conscious squirrel) and Gull (a silly but lovable seagull), at first they might not appear to be high on the protected species list, but they’re constantly on the verge of catastrophic extinction through misadventure with hilarious consequences.

Endangered Species is made by Canadian animation studio Nerd Corps Entertainment and is distributed by their parent company, DHX Media. Endangered Species was originally commissioned by Teletoon in Canada. Season one of Endangered Species has 26 episodes which are 11 minutes long each.

Boomerang International Feeds Get Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs Animated Series

Turner Broadcasting System and DHX Media have reached a deal to buy the broadcasting rights for the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: The Series, based on the Sony Pictures Animation film franchise. The animated series is currently being produced by DHX Media and Sony Pictures Animation. The animated series was commissioned by Teletoon in Canada and will be aired on Boomerang feeds worldwide outside the United States which include local variants of Boomerang in Europe, Middle East, Africa, the Asia-Pacific area and Latin America.

Josh Scherba, the senior VP of distribution at DHX Media stated that the success of the movie was the reason for new the TV series:

“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs has a huge global fan base following the successful movie franchise and we are confident that the equally wacky and wonderful TV series will resonate with children and families globally.”

Cecilia Persson, the VP of acquisitions and co-productions for international at Turner Broadcasting, stated that Boomerang is always looking for great new content for their channel and believe that Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a great show for their channel.

“As we continue to expand our programming lineup, we’re on the lookout for great content that whole families can enjoy. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs offers exactly that and we’re delighted to have acquired the series for Boomerang right across our international markets.”

Rick Mischel, executive producer at Sony Pictures Animation is excited that Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs is about to have its very own show and revealed a bit of the premise for the new show:

“We’re really excited to see the comedy and heart of Cloudy packed into a TV series. This brand has fans worldwide, and now they get to go back and see all the adventures of Flint and Sam as teenagers.”

New Inspector Gadget CGI Series To Air On Boomerang Worldwide

Today it was announced that DHX Media and Turner Broadcasting System made an international broadcasting rights deal for the new 3D CGI Inspector Gadget 26 episode series which will air on Boomerang feeds in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America areas. Boomerang will continue revamping their international feeds next year and the new Inspector Gadget series has been included as part of the network’s programming lineup in 2015.

The new series was originally commissioned by Canadian network Teletoon and all of the main original characters such as Penny, Brain and Dr Claw will be returning in the new series. The new series will be a continuation and not a reboot, Dr Claw has reestablished his MAD crime organisation and as a result Inspector Gadget has returned from retirement.

Josh Scherba, DHX Media’s Senior Vice-President of Distribution made this statement regarding the new Inspector Gadget series:
