Great news for creek kids everywhere, one of Cartoon Network’s latest hit shows – Craig of the Creek has been renewed for a second season, which means more imaginative adventures at the creek with Craig and his friends J.P. and Kelsey. The show has been held in high regard for its nostalgic childhood stories, episode storylines and relatable characters. The show has ranked in the top ten cable television premieres for boys aged between six and eleven years old and has been critically acclaimed by The Los Angeles Times for its “power of imagination” and by business publication – Fast Company for its “attention to inclusion and positive representation of minorities”. The show is co-created by three-time Emmy-nominated Steven Universe writers Matt Burnett and Ben Levin and is produced at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, California. The show was developed through the studio’s renowned Global Artists Programme which has outputted many Emmy award winning shows and has kick-started the careers of talented show creators and animators.

In May this year, the show was awarded a Common Sense Seal by Common Sense Media because of the diversity of its characters and inclusion of minorities. Common Sense Media awards television shows (or any form of media marketed towards children) if they have a positive social message for children and whether the content has positive role models or/and educational content.

The new season of Craig of the Creek will premiere on Cartoon Network USA in 2019, but there’s still new episodes from season one to air, season one of Craig of the Creek will continue from Monday 20th August, the new episodes will premiere on weekdays at 4pm ET/PT on the Cartoon Network USA television channel and are available on the Cartoon Network app and on various pay-TV providers’ VOD and on-demand streaming platforms.

Cartoon Network’s hit original series Craig of the Creek is heading for more adventures with Craig, J.P. and Kelsey and a season two greenlight. Since its debut earlier this year, the groundbreaking show has been celebrated for the trio’s creative and imaginative escapades and spurred a groundswell of excitement from critics, fans across social media, and beyond. Craig of the Creek has also tapped into an emotional sense of nostalgia for audiences and connected with viewers through its relatable characters and universal storylines. The top 10 cable series in premieres among boys 6 – 11 has been hailed for its “attention to inclusion and positive representation of minorities” by Fast Company and by The Los Angeles Times for its “power of imagination.”

Craig of the Creek follows the precocious Craig as he leads his best friends J.P. and Kelsey on comical journeys at their neighborhood creek, transforming everyday afternoons into thrilling expeditions through imaginative play. Beginning Monday, August 20, new episodes from the current season will premiere weekdays at 4 p.m. (ET/PT) and are available on the Cartoon Network app and various TV providers’ VOD and on-demand streaming platforms.

Co-created by three-time Emmy-nominated Steven Universe writers Matt Burnett and Ben Levin, Craig of the Creek is executive produced by Cartoon Network Studios. The show was developed through the studio’s global Artists Program known for creating a pipeline of critically acclaimed, Emmy-winning shows and serving as a talent incubator for gifted animators.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) released their nominations list for the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards this morning (12/07/2018) at their headquarters in Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA. This year, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim have completely dominated the “Outstanding Short Form Animated Program” category with nominations for Cartoon Network Studios’ Adventure Time, Steven Universe and We Bare Bears, Warner Bros. Animation’s Teen Titans Go! (produced for Cartoon Network) and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios’ Robot Chicken (produced for Adult Swim).

Adventure Time has been nominated specifically for the episode “Ring of Fire”, Steven Universe has been nominated for the episode “Jungle Moon” and We Bare Bears has been nominated for the episode “Hurricane Hal”. Teen Titans Go! has been nominated for the “The Self-Indulgent 200th Episode Spectacular! special episode (Parts 1 and 2)” and finally Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken has been nominated for the “Freshly Baked: The Robot Chicken Santa Claus Pot Cookie Freakout” Christmas special.

Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty has been nominated in the “Outstanding Animated Program Category”, specifically for the episode – “Pickle Rick”, best wishes to the cast, production crew and to show creators – Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. In the same category, Rick and Morty will compete against Disney XD’s Big Hero 6: The Series, FOX’s Bob’s Burgers, FOX’s The Simpsons and Comedy Central’s South Park. Rick and Morty has also been nominated in the “Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media Within A Scripted
Program” category for the virtual reality game – “Virtual Rick-ality” by Owlchemy Labs and Adult Swim Games.

The Tom And Jerry Show Wins Daytime Creative Arts Emmy For Outstanding Music Direction And Composition

On Sunday 29th April, the 2018 Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held in Pasadena, California and Warner Bros. Animation’s and Cartoon Network’s/Boomerang’s The Tom and Jerry Show won an Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition. Show composer – Vivek Maddala was awarded the trophy at the awards ceremony. The Tom and Jerry Show is a modern remake of the classic slapstick comedy animated series created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, which follows two “frenemies” – a cat named Tom and a mouse named Jerry, Tom is determined to catch Jerry by any means, but Jerry always outsmarts him.

HBO’s Sesame Street also won a total of seven awards including: Outstanding Preschool Children’s Series; Outstanding Writing in a Children’s, Preschool Children’s, Family Viewing; Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design; Outstanding Technical Team; Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing; Outstanding Sound Editing – Live Action and Outstanding Original Song for “A Song About Songs”.
