Turner Asia-Pacific Renews Horrid Henry Seasons One To Four Broadcasting Rights

Zodiak Kids (owned by Banijay Group) has signed a broadcasting rights renewal deal with Turner Broadcasting System Asia-Pacific for seasons one to four of Novel Entertainment’s Horrid Henry, the show has aired on Cartoon Network Australia and New Zealand, Cartoon Network India, Cartoon Network Southeast Asia and Cartoon Network Taiwan. News of the the deal was announced during MIPCOM 2018 this week (15th to 18th October) in Cannes, France.

The Horrid Henry animated series is based on the children’s book series of the same name written by Francesca Simon, the titular character – Henry is a young boy with a rebellious personality, he is often naughty and doesn’t respect authority figures, if he doesn’t get his own way he gets his revenge by breaking the rules or by pranking.

Zodiak Kids has also signed up broadcasting deals for Horrid Henry with MBC (Middle East), Alati International (Russia), and Atlantic Digital Networks (Canada). Including the renewal deal with Turner Asia-Pacific, Zodiak has also renewed existing deals with Mediacorp (Singapore), POP TV (Slovenia), E-Vision (Middle East), Asiana (Korea), and Netflix (the US, Canada, France, Australia and New Zealand).

Season five of Horrid Henry is currently in production and will consist of 42 episodes, each with a run-time of 11 minutes, in the UK, the new season will air on Nicktoons in 2019. Zodiak Kids has already picked up the distribution rights for season five, however Turner Asia-Pacific hasn’t made a deal with Zodiak yet for season five.

In the new game, you play as Blossom, Bubbles or Buttercup and fight against waves of oncoming of monsters, each Powerpuff Girl has unique strengths, use their abilities to defeat each horde and save the day! Also you can upgrade the Powerpuff Girls’ abilities to make them faster, stronger and tougher and also collect friendly helper monsters. The game was developed by Crystal Fish Games in association with Tiny Monster Studios.

The brand new game launched last Monday (14th May) and is now available to download on Google Play (Android) and the iTunes App Store (iOS). Today (25/01/2018) Turner Asia-Pacific and Singapore-based luxury cruise line management company – Oceanic Group have announced that they have partnered up to offer the world’s first ever Cartoon Network-themed cruise ship – Cartoon Network Wave. For the first time ever, some of the world’s most famous cartoon characters will be setting sail on their very own cruise ship. The ship will set off on its maiden voyage from its home port of Singapore in late 2018.

Cartoon Network Wave will have 11 guest-decks, with an on-board capacity of around 2,000 guests and will feature the world’s first triplex cabins on a cruise ship. the ship will be an enjoyable experience for families with young children and cartoon fans everywhere, offering the feeling of an ocean voyage adventure with their favourite characters. Different sections of the ship will be themed after a wide selection of the channel’s most iconic shows, including Adventure Time, Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and We Bare Bears. During a cruise on Cartoon Network Wave, guests will get to enjoy a wide choice of entertainment (outdoor deck party area and Toonix Play and Learn area), recreational activities and themed retail and restaurant areas. The ship will have a character filled livery with Adventure Time’s Jake covering the ship’s bow.

Cartoon Network Wave will be sailing to thirteen popular destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia and Japan. Dates and itineraries for the ship’s routes will be announced later this year. Previously, Cartoon Network has licensed out its branding to other forms of transportation, this includes working with airlines such as Thai Smile to promote the Cartoon Network Amazone waterpark in Thailand, with Azul Airlines in Brazil for Powerpuff Girls themed planes and also CN themed trains in Taiwan.

This fully-branded ship is the result of a partnership between Oceanic Group, Asia-Pacific’s leading cruise management company and Turner, the global media giant behind Cartoon Network.

Set to make its maiden voyage from its home port of Singapore in late 2018, the 11 guest-deck, 2,000-guest Cartoon Network Wave will be one vast haven for toon-loving travellers. With the ocean as a backdrop, families will enjoy the world’s first immersive Toon vacation at sea, and an adventure with their favourite Cartoon Network stars.

While there are many existing projects by Turner’s location-based entertainment team including Cartoon Network-branded restaurants, theme parks, waterparks around the world – and even planes and trains – this is the first time anywhere that a cruise liner has undergone a full Cartoon Network transformation.

The theming and entire onboard experience of Cartoon Network Wave is inspired by Cartoon Network’s universe of well-loved characters from iconic shows such as Adventure Time, Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and We Bare Bears. This includes a variety of diverse entertainment, activity and recreation features, as well as retail and food and beverage options.

Cartoon Network Wave will be docked at the Singapore Cruise Centre and will sail to 13 popular destinations in the Asia Pacific region including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia and Japan. Bringing to life the world’s first Cartoon-Network themed cruise

Oceanic Group formalised its partnership with Turner in a signing ceremony this morning in Singapore, marking the official launch of Cartoon Network Wave, the world’s first Cartoon Network-themed cruise and Singapore’s first homegrown contemporary cruise product.

Oceanic Group’s Chief Executive Mr Daniel Chui said the partnership represents the company’s commitment to capitalise on Asia’s growing cruise travel market. “A homegrown cruise project, Cartoon Network Wave heralds the start of a new vacation experience for cruise-goers in Asia where cruise travel meets personalised journeys through experiential story-telling.
