Boomerang Rebrand

Today (19/01/2015), Boomerang USA has rebranded using the new multicoloured idents and black and white motif logo, today is also national holiday in the United States as its Martin Luther King Day, which was an ideal time to rebrand. Today marks the first time Boomerang USA has rebranded, unlike the other international feeds, Boomerang USA has been using the same toy bumpers since 1st April 2000. This is a milestone in the Boomerang international rebrand rollout, which was first started with Boomerang UK using elements and colours of the rebrand in promos since September 2014, followed by the full rebrands of Boomerang Latin America, Brazil, Australia, Southeast Asia, France and Nordic.

Here is a continuity of the Boomerang USA rebrand:

Dish Network In USA Dropped Cartoon Network, Adult Swim & Boomerang

It has been announced today that Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang (including some other Turner Broadcasting System channels) have been dropped on Dish Network, both Dish and Turner have been trying to negotiate a fair price for the channels, it’s not known how close they are in reaching a deal. The Dish Network/Turner carriage deal expired yesterday (20/10/2014) and the contract was up for renewal.

From the Press Release:

“Despite our best efforts, we were unable to reach an agreement with Dish Network, and they have unilaterally decided to pull CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, truTV, TCM, HLN, CNN en Espanol and Boomerang off the air upon the expiration of our current deal.

Turner has worked diligently for months to come to a fair agreement including multiple extensions and compromises, and it’s unfortunate that Dish is once again operating in a disruptive manner that takes away networks and programming from their customers. We are hopeful our counterparts will return to the negotiating table, and we’ll get a deal completed.”
