Happy 75th Birthday Bugs Bunny

Bugs Bunny, the mascot of Warner Bros and who is closely associated with Cartoon Network and Boomerang, made his debut on this day in 1940. The character was initially developed by Ben Hardaway and Cal Dalton and was officially developed by Tex Avery.

Bugs Bunny made his first official appearance in the Merrie Melodies short “A Wild Hare” and voice actor Mel Blanc gave him his recognisable voice. Bugs Bunny has appeared in the Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes shorts, The Looney Tunes Show, films such as Space Jam and Looney Tunes: Back In Action.

A new animated show featuring Bugs Bunny called Wabbit: A Looney Tunes Production is currently in production and will air on Boomerang feeds worldwide.

From today The Jungle Bunch: To The Rescue will return to Boomerang Central Eastern Europe with new episodes at 3.30pm CET every weekday. The show is about a gang of animals that help others in the jungle, led by a penguin who thinks he’s a tiger.
