A channel launch preview promo for Boing Africa was uploaded to Vimeo yesterday, judging from the promo, the channel has similar to its French and Italian counterparts in terms of presentation and the promo features some of the animated shows that broadcast on the channel including: Dreamworks Dragons: Riders of Berk, Codename: Kids Next Door, Angelo Rules, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo and Dexter’s Laboratory.

Boing Africa launched on 30th May and was launched in response of the rapidly growing African pay-TV market and will be marketed alongside its sister channels, Cartoon Network and Boomerang. Turner Broadcasting System was also at the DISCOP Africa convention in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, last Wednesday (03/06/2015), to promote the new channel and to announce their new strategy for the African market. Boing Africa is only currently available on Montage Cable in Nigeria and MobileTV.

Boing Africa To Launch On 30th May

Today (09/04/2015), it was announced that Turner Broadcasting System will launch Boing Africa on 30th May. The new channel will complement Cartoon Network and Boomerang in terms of children’s content and will put the continent in line with Cartoon Network’s operations in Southern Europe. Boing also has a presence in Spain, acting as Turner’s primary and only children’s channel and as a programming block on Cartoon Network Turkey. Similar to the other markets where Boing is present, Boing Africa will target the 4 to 14 age group and its content will appeal to both boys and girls.

At or after launch, the new channel will air animated programming Dexter’s Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Codename: Kids Next Door, Angelo Rules and Dreamworks Dragons: Riders of Berk. Also included in the initial schedule will be animated action shows including Batman, Green Lantern and Thundercats. Turner’s first carriage deal for Boing Africa is with Montage, a satellite TV provider operating from Nigeria and carriage deals with other satellite, digital terrestrial, mobile and IPTV providers are in progress in countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Zambia and Tanzania.

Pierre Branco, vice president and general manager of Turner Southern Europe and Africa made this statement in regards of the launch of Boing Africa on 30th May.

Cartoon Network To Become A 24 Hour Service In Hungary On Pay-TV Providers From 1st April 2015

From 1st April 2015, Cartoon Network Central Eastern Europe on Hungarian TV providers will no longer timeshare with Turner Classic Movies between 9pm and 6am and will become an around-the-clock 24 hour service.

The following is the night schedule between 9pm and 6am on Cartoon Network Central Europe on 1st April, available for Hungarian viewers.
