Changes In The Children’s Television Industry: Cartoon Network Enterprises Northern Europe
In an article by licensing news website – Licensing Source – “Channel hopping: The changing face of children’s TV”, Cartoon Network Enterprises’ Northern Europe director – Graham Saltmarsh was interviewed about the changing face of children’s television, how kids access content today and how it relates to product licensing.
According to Graham, traditional television remains to be the main gateway for kids who want to discover content and new brands, but he also points out that a 360-degree approach to content is necessary, which covers YouTube views, shows being available on VOD services as well as the traditional linear television service. In Northern Europe (UK and Nordics), Ben 10 and Teen Titans Go! were among the top performers for Cartoon Network in 2018, and Graham also highlighted Bakugan as a brand to watch in 2019, the new Bakugan series – Bakugan: Battle Planet premiered on Cartoon Network UK last Saturday (23rd March).
