Cartoon Network Latin America’s And Copa Studio’s Jorel’s Brother Nominated For Ibero-American Animation Quirino Award
The Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards has released its 2019 finalists list and Cartoon Network Latin America’s and Copa Studio’s Jorel’s Brother (original Brazilian Portuguese title: Irmão do Jorel) has been nominated for “Best Ibero-American Animation Series”. The finalists stage is the second nomination stage, where the best nominations in each category are carried forward as finalists.
Jorel’s Brother follows the life of a young Brazilian boy (based on the show’s creator – Juliano Enrico) who often gets overshadowed by his brother – Jorel and is not referred to by his actual name, both live with an eccentric family who often get themselves into bizarre situations. The show is animated by Rio de Janeiro based studio – Copa Studio for Cartoon Network Latin America. Jorel’s Brother was nominated for the best animated series specifically for the episode “Be Broccoli!”. In the episode, Jorel’s Brother takes on the role of a Broccoli in a school play, his father – Edson tries to inspire him to behave like a vegetable.
The 2019 Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards will be held on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th April in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on the Spanish holiday resort island of Tenerife. The purpose of the Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards is to celebrate excellence in the animation industry covering all Ibero-American countries, which include the whole of Spanish and Portuguese speaking Latin America plus the Iberian peninsular countries of Europe (Spain, Portugal and Andorra).
