Canal Digital And Turner Make VOD Deal And Channels Renewed

Turner Broadcasting System Europe and Canal Digital, a pan-Scandinavian satellite, IPTV and cable provider have reached a deal to provide on-demand content from Cartoon Network and Boomerang with shows such as Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, Ben 10, Tom & Jerry and Scooby Doo. Also as part of the distribution carriage deal, all Turner channels (Cartoon Network Nordic, Boomerang Nordic, TNT and TCM) have all been renewed on Canal Digital and the deal also includes TNT video on-demand content such as shows like Falling Skies. All on-demand content will be added to the Canal Digital VOD service within the next six months.

Ragnar Kårhus, Administrative Director at Telenor Broadcast and Canal Digital made this statement regarding the new deal with Turner:

“As part of this agreement, we have also gotten access to complete seasons of shows that can be viewed whenever and where ever our customers’ desire. We know that more and more people watch TV in this manner. Turner’s wide selection of movies, drama series and kids content will be a great addition to our customer offering”

Ian McDonough, SVP & MD, Turner, UK & Northern Europe made this statement about the new deal with Canal Digital:

“This new and expanded partnership with Canal Digital marks an important moment for Turner in the Nordic region, as we focus more and more on putting the consumer at the centre of everything we do. For us this means concentrating our efforts around the hugely popular global channel brands within our portfolio, whilst seamlessly delivering through partners like Canal Digital a branded and editorialized on demand experience for fans of our content.”
