Turner Asia-Pacific Strengthens Distribution Team

Today (02/06/2015), it was announced that Turner Asia-Pacific will be making changes to their management due to Turner’s recent expansion in the region, including the addition of Oh!K in South Korea and World Heritage Channel to Turner’s portfolio, and the relaunches of Warner TV and Boomerang Southeast Asia. The changes in place will affect Cartoon Network, Toonami and Boomerang in the region.

Robi Stanton has been promoted to General Manager of Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Territories. She will oversee all of Turner’s commercial business relationships in these markets, including ad sales, content sales and network distribution.

Vishal Dembla has been promoted to VP of Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, with a remit that includes Hong Kong, Thailand and the rest of the Indochina peninsula. Dembla recently spearheaded a number of initiatives, among them the launch of Toonami, Boomerang and POGO in Thailand. He was also part of the team that developed Oh!K, the region’s newest Korean entertainment channel. Finally, Voo Chih Yeong has been hired as VP of Southeast Asia, and is now responsible for all affiliate partnerships in key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Yeong joins Turner from Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia.

Regarding these changes, Phil Nelson, Turner’s Managing Director and Senior Vice President for North Asia and Southeast Asia Pacific made this statement:

“Turner’s rapid expansion across Southeast Asia and the significance of the Australia market has triggered this important change. We work with demanding, world-class partners and they deserve the best team to support their business. I’m confident that our outstanding brands and this new-look, high-caliber team can meet these growing needs.”
