Last night (23/11/2014) was the Children’s BAFTA Awards in London and Cartoon Network UK won two awards for best children’s channel of the year and best international kids show for Adventure Time!. Cartoon Network had nominations in other categories such as best animated show of 2014 for The Amazing World of Gumball (losing to Aardman’s Shawn the Sheep), for best website (losing to Bin Weevils) and for best children’s programme (losing to Jessie) but they didn’t win a BAFTA, but obtaining a nomination is an achievement alone as there was tough competition. Cartoon Network’s sister company, Warner Bros also won an award for best feature film of 2014 for The Lego Movie, but lost the BAFTA Kids Vote for best film of the year to Disney’s Frozen.
Congratulations to everyone at Turner/Warner Bros for winning three BAFTA’s and to anyone who won a Children’s BAFTA last night.
